Gamiss total look: Who makes the rules for Street Style?

Recently I visited my favorite site Gamiss. Do you remember? I told you something about it in THIS post, it’s an incredibly well supplied online store in which you can purchase trendy clothes and items at attractive prices. And I, as a lover of fine clothing, but also as one who pays attention to the price factor, have become one of their most loyal clients ever since I found out about them.

I chose to purchase a total look this time, I found a stuffed basket full of great clothes I would have loved to buy in my wishlist, and I realized that that t-shirt and those ripped jeans had to be mine! And that’s how it went.

I’ve always been a great fan of Street style, and of all of those styles which characterize this definition, and it’s exactly from streets that the main trends of the moment come from.

WHAT IS STREET STYLE?

Street Style, or Street wear, with the literal meaning of “street clothing” is nothing short of a way of life, a way of living and playing with fashion, and to identify with your own way of being. It’s mostly loved and used among young people, which have become the real symbol of street wear and urban style.

Street style, as it’s in the streets and from the streets that many trends come from, only to be used again by the various international brands. It’s not a unique style of clothing, but a group of many subcultures, of underground genre.

Many examples of street style are Urban chic, which is what I’m proposing today, casual chic, hip hop, gothic style and the hippy genre.

WHO MAKES THE RULES OF STREET STYLE

In this historical period it’s the most famous bloggers that are calling the shots in terms of style, we’ve admired them over the last few days, as they walk in between parades, and we’ve seen how fashion photographers go crazy for their looks and their, often eclectic, styles.

They’re actually the most revered by stylists, which don’t mind giving them a very near seat in their most important parades, where only workers and fashion journalists were the only ones allowed, once.

Many people don’t like this, but this girls deserve credit, not really for knowing fashion, but for actually being Influencers in terms of styles and tendences. Would you like to know what’s the must have of next spring, or what colors will be trendy in the 2017 summer season? They will undoubtedly be able to answer these questions.

And here are the queens of Fashion Weeks!

And then there’s us, common mortals, yet with the desire, in our own possibilities, of playing with fashion. Many of us experiment everyday, maybe in their own home, different outfits, with strange pairings that probably will never be worn openly, there’s the woman who would like to learn how to dress herself better but she doesn’t know where to start, or the one who knows what she’s doing, never needing to learn anything from these girls –  and then there’s me, loving to play fool in the open world, bringing forward a passion that has been always planted inside me.

It’s true that each and everyone of us has her own personal style, and that this can be identified in every woman. But it’s also true that, if you don’t play with fashion, if you don’t blend styles, if you don’t try to think outside of the box: You can’t have a passion for this topic!

After all, I really follow my instinct, I dress myself based on how I feel in that particular moment, and in today’s outfit I really felt childish, yet with an awareness of the woman I’ve become today (or that I’m becoming?)

Urban style is the typology of clothing that fits me the most, I spent my entire adolescence between torn jeans, printed shirts and hats. It’s my style, my Linus’s blanket, it’s what makes me feel comfortable the most.

What do you think about street style, is it for you?
